A code is a building, and every module is a brick.
MODULO studies the visual grammar of things designed to be read by machines first and humans second. Barcodes, fiducials, datamatrices, calibration targets — the quiet infrastructure of recognition.
The three-eye convention
Every QR symbol carries three finder patterns, one short of the four you'd expect from a rectangle. The missing fourth corner is the whole trick: three points fix position, scale and rotation, and the absence of the fourth resolves the ambiguity of which way is up.
It is one of the most efficient pieces of design in circulation — an orientation system encoded in negative space, understood by every camera on earth, and never once explained to the people looking at it.
