County Measure 7

Referred by petition Vote YES or NO

Shall the county issue $48,000,000 in bonds to raise the Marchfield tide wall and rebuild the Cormorant Street causeway?

If approved, the bonds would be repaid over twenty-two years by a levy of roughly eleven cents per hundred dollars of assessed value. Construction would begin in the spring following certification.

“The wall we have was built for the sea we used to have.” — Marchfield Coastal Commission, findings of fact, §4.2

A full text of Measure 7 is posted at every polling place and available from the Clerk on request. Arguments for and against appear in the county voters' pamphlet, pages 14–19.
