Kettle Row. That’s… not on the map, is it?
Six blocks. Then seven. The street numbers climbed to 12, then went back to 2.

NarrationThe rain stopped mid-fall. Not slowed. Stopped — a hundred thousand little glass commas hanging where they were, waiting for someone to finish the sentence.

Ren counted three breaths. The drops did not move. The soup was still hot.
