Liquid Nav
The gooey indicator up top is the real thing — a lead blob, a lagging tail, and a stray droplet that merge and split as your pointer wanders. Try it.
Liquid interface studio
We are BLOB — a design studio that treats pixels like liquid. Buttons that squish, menus that flow, indicators that pull apart like droplets and snap back together. Rigid rectangles, respectfully, are over.
The idea
Every interface we ship is built on a simple physics: two shapes that come close should want to touch. Get near, and they bulge toward one another. Overlap, and they fuse into one soft body. Pull apart, and a thread stretches, thins, and snaps.
That single rule — metaballs plus a spring — is enough to make a menu feel alive. No confetti, no gimmicks. Just motion that obeys the way liquids actually behave, timed so it lands in the palm of your hand.
"Good software should feel like it has a little bit of water in it."
Four systems, one philosophy: nothing on screen should have a hard corner it didn't earn.
The gooey indicator up top is the real thing — a lead blob, a lagging tail, and a stray droplet that merge and split as your pointer wanders. Try it.
A design token layer for softness: radius curves, tension constants, and merge thresholds you can tune per brand without touching a shader.
A tiny runtime that swaps every easing curve for a critically-damped spring, so nothing ever stops with a thud. Overshoot included, jank excluded.
Copy-paste SVG filters, FAB recipes, and the metaball math — the exact kit behind this page — packaged so your team can drip it anywhere.
House rules
We break plenty of conventions. These are the ones we never break.
Position is a spring, not a lerp. If it can overshoot and settle, it should.
Shapes that get within a radius bulge toward each other before they meet.
Separation is never instant. A neck stretches, thins, and snaps with a beat of delay.
Even idle, the surface breathes. A page that stops moving looks broken.
Tell us about the interface you want to bring to life. We reply within a day — usually with a blob attached.
