  1. 2015 Zero hour

    Founded above a watch shop

    Two engineers in Geneva got tired of arguing about whose server was right. Their first prototype synced two machines to within 40 milliseconds — and felt like magic.

  2. 2017 The drift problem

    Chrono Core ships

    Every clock drifts. We shipped Core, a daemon that models temperature, load and network jitter to hold data-center drift under a quarter of a microsecond. Twelve customers on launch day.

    One heartbeat, 1,200 servers

    Our first fleet-scale deployment kept twelve hundred servers on the same instant across three continents. Series A followed six weeks later. The word "impossible" got quietly retired.

    A rubidium reference everywhere

    We partnered with three national labs and put an atomic reference in every region we serve. Time stopped being borrowed from the network and started being generated on-site.
