Dowsing Instruments & Divination

Hold the
question.
Let the brass
decide.

A precision oracle cast in solid naval brass and hung on waxed silk. Steer it with your cursor, or take the bob in hand and set it swinging — then read the arc where it wants to rest. The instrument does not guess. It simply stops lying to you.

01 — The Instrument

The oracle is nothing but physics wearing ceremony. A bob, a cord, a pivot — and the small tremors your hand betrays before your mind admits to them.

Every unit is turned by hand from a single billet of naval brass, then hung on forty centimetres of triple-waxed silk that will not stretch, fray, or take a set. The pivot is jewelled, near-frictionless, and calibrated so the pendulum answers to the faintest lean of intention — not to draught, not to tremor, only to you.

We make no claim about spirits. We make a very precise claim about brass: released above a question, it will find the arc your certainty is hiding.

02 — How It Reads
Far Left · −48°

No.

The bob leans hard and will not be coaxed. Whatever you asked, the answer was decided before you finished asking.

Left · −24°

Not Yet.

Motion without commitment. The moment is real but unripe — the chart asks you to wait, not to abandon.

Centre · 0°

Ask Again.

Perfect balance is not peace — it is a question badly worded. Narrow it, and let the brass find its lean.

Right · +24°

Perhaps.

A drift toward yes, still gathering weight. Encouragement, conditional — the door is open but unlatched.

Far Right · +48°

Yes.

Full commitment to the arc, settled and certain. You already knew — the pendulum only made it audible.

By Appointment Only

Bring one true question.

Sittings are held at dusk in the workshop on Cordwainer Row. Come with a single enquiry, plainly worded, and the honesty to abide the arc. The brass will not flatter you — that is rather the point.
